Christian worship devotions including prayer, music, poetry by Carol Castagna, formerly of mrsrevvincecastagna. This blogsite offers worship music which is an integral part of worship. These are from utube. I have my own website: http://www.joypsalms.com. But when I proceeded with it, I found that many of you from other countries were not able to access the website. So I began JOY IN JESUS CHRIST on blogspot.
. God bless you as you read.
I will lift up my eyes to the hills- from whence cometh my help? My help cometh from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth.
He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber. Behold. He who keeps Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.
The Lord is your keeper; the Lord is your shade at your right hand. The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night.
The Lord shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul. The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in from this time forth and evermore.

THE PLACE WHERE KINDNESS LIVES
The place where kindness lives is not so very far away
You'll stumble quite by chance upon its presence one sweet day
As if it were a dream, a gift, a treasure chest of gold
You'll walk into the depths and breadth of kindness unfortold
Some fortunate among us knew its essence long ago…
Childhood memories whisper warmth's sweet breeze as we grow old
Yet others of us wait till quite by happenstance it seems
The place where kindness lives, at last no longer crowds our dreams
At last we taste its sweet, sweet peace and breathe its fragrance new
And bask in fields of daisies _sunshine bright and daybreak's dew
And so we find the place where kindness lives not far away
Dear Father, Help me to minister to your people with your passion, compassion, love and grace. Let me seek the lost and find them, reach out to them and touch them with your love, for Your honor and Your glory.
"CAN A WOMAN FORGET HER NURSING CHILD AND NOT HAVE COMPASSION ON THE SON OF HER WOMB? SURELY, THEY MAY FORGET, YET I WILL NOT FORGET YOU. SEE I HAVE INSCRIBED YOU ON THE PALMS OF MY HAND." ISAIAH 49: 15, 16
Dear Father,
Thank You for Your mercy that is everlasting. In Jesus' name, Amen.
"I am the vine and my Father is the true vinedresser. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit."
John 15: 4, 5
"Abide in me and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me and I in him, bears much fruit: for without Me you can do nothing."
Oh, how the Lord loves us! His provision lifts us to be nurtured by Himself! "We can do all things through Christ Who loved us and gave Himself for us."
Lyrics and Music by Kurt Kaiser: Oh, How He Loves You and Me
Oh, How He loves you and me,
Oh, how He loves you and me.
He gave His life; what more could He give?
Oh, how He loves you. Oh, how He loves me. Oh, how He loves you and me.
John 8: 38
"He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water."
John: 14: 16, 17, 18
"And I will pray the Father and He will give you another Helper, (The Holy Spirit) that He may abide with you forever-the Spirit of truth.... I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you."
Dear Father,
Thank You for loving us. Thank You for giving us Your Holy Spirit in this world to lead and guide. Help us to be more like You every day. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Jesus's Promise: "Where I Am, There You Shall Be, Also." 4/17/15
BIBLE VERSE "For we know that when this earthly tent we live in is taken down (that is, when we die and leave this earthly body), we will have a house in heaven, an eternal body made for us by God himself and not by human hands." New Living Translation
And Jesus said...that where I am there you shall be also...
There are old, old, hymns that I remember from my childhood. The choruses go something like this:
THIS WORLD IS NOT MY HOME (public domain/ author: unknown
This world, this world is not my home.
This world, this world is not my home.
This world is not my resting place.
This world, this world is not my home.
FARTHER ALONG (public domain/author: Brad Parsely
Farther along, we'll know all about it
Farther along, we'll understand why.
Cheer up, my brother, live in the sunshine.
We'll understand it... All... bye and bye.
FRIENDSHIP WITH JESUS (public domain/ author: Joseph C. Ludgate
Friendship with Jesus...
Fellowship divine!
Oh, what blessed, sweet communion.
Jesus is a Friend of mine.
I'VE GOT A MANSION OVER THE HILLTOP (public domain/ author: Daniel O'Donnell
I've got a mansion, just over the hilltop
In that bright land where we'll never grow old
And someday yonder We will never more wonder
But walk on streets that are purest gold.
CHANGED IN A TWINKLING OF AN EYE public domain/ author: Fanny Crosby, W.J. Kilpatrick
Changed in a twinkling of an eye
Changed in a twinkling of an eye.
The trumpet shall sound.
The dead shall be raised.
Changed in the twinkling of an eye!
KEEP ME TRUE public domain/ author: unknown
Keep me true, Lord Jesus. Keep me true.
Keep me true, Lord Jesus, Keep me true.
There's a race that I must run...
There are victories to be won.
Give me power, every hour, to be true.
IN THE SWEET BYE AND BYE (public domain)
In the sweet bye and bye
We shall meet on that beautiful shore.
In the sweet bye and bye,
We shall meet on that beautiful shore.
How blessed we are to know that this world is not the end of our soul's existence. The Lord has promised us that our souls wrapped in a new body will live on with Him in Eternity. How sweet, that we can rest on the promise that we are just passing through this life and that this earthly body will one day be transformed 'in a twinkling of an eye.' Our trials on earth will be something similar to an eye-blink, when we reach those heavenly shores. And there will be no sadness, there. Romans 8: 31... We are more than conquerors through Him that loved us.
The First Epistle of Paul the Apostle to the Thessalonians 4: 16
16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first.
17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And theus we shall always be with the Lord.
18 Therfore comfort one another with these words.
Featuring Larnelle Harris and Sandi Patti sings "I've Just Seen Jesus"
John 14: 2, 3, 6 And Jesus said: In My Father's house are many mansions...I go to prepare a place for you. I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you shall be also. And where I go you know, and the way you know... I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father, except through Me.
PRAYER: THANK YOU, DEAR FATHER, FOR YOUR WORD THAT LIFTS US HIGH WITH THE HOPE THAT ONE DAY, WE SHALL BE WITH YOU AND SEE YOUR GLORIOUS FACE! ...AND SING AND REJOICE WITH THE ANGELS! WE LOOK FORWARD WITH JOY TO THE DAY WHEN WE WORHSIP YOU FACE TO FACE! WE PRAY THAT YOU WILL KEEP US FAITHFUL AND EVER-WATCHING AND READY FOR YOUR RETURN. PRAISE YOUR GLORIOUS AND MATCHLESS NAME! IN JESUS'S NAME WE PRAY, AMEN.

CHILDREN’S HAPPINESS SONG
He is with me by my side
Jesus is our Friend and Guide
I’m so glad that Jesus loves me
Let me share how glad He makes me.
Finger-snapping toe-tapping happiness
Lip-smacking, ice crackling happiness
Sun-sizzled, rain drizzled happiness.
(Chorus) I’m so glad that Jesus loves me
Let me share how glad He makes me
Rainbow dazzled, hair-frazzled happiness
Dizzy, frizzy, swervey, curvy happiness
Ice-cream dripping – running, skipping happiness.
(Chorus) I’m so glad that Jesus loves me
Let me share how glad He makes me
Puddle-slushing, water-gushing happiness
Kite-soaring, falls roaring happiness
Garden-planted, health-granted happiness
(Ending Chorus)
I’m so glad that Jesus loves me
I have shared how glad He makes me
He’s the One that I will love forevermore.
I Timothy 4: 12
Let no man despise thy youth but be thou an example of the believer in word, conversation,
Spirit, faith, purity
Mark 10:16 And Jesus took the children in his arms, put his hands on them, and blessed them.
Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus, throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
Imagine what grand things the Lord can do through us, His servants, if we but yield to His leading! Especially, His writers!
Today's world waits for words from the Holy Spirit of God, written by those who belong to Him. Let us boldly step forward and
write words that people will understand and hold dear to their hearts.
Jeremiah 31: 3 I have loved you with an everlasting love.
As we remember the sacrifice of Jesus's bleeding death on the cross of Calvary and His triumphant resurrection on the third day, let us bow in thanksgiving for the victory He won for us. Praise Jesus, Lamb of God, who cleanses us from sin and leads us in the way, everlasting.
Romans: 8: 1, 2 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus, the law of the Spirit Who gives you life sets you free from the law of sin and death. NIV
Colossians 13 For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves,14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
GREAT IS YOUR FAITHFULNESS, OH LORD."
Lamentations 3: 22,23 NKJV
"YOUR MERCIES ARE NEW EVERY MORNING"
WE LOVE YOU, LORD, FOR LOVING US!
'YOU REDEEM OUR LIVES FROM DESTRUCTION;
YOU CROWN US WITH LOVING KINDNESS AND TENDER MERCIES'
PSALM 103:4 NKJV
Lamentations 3: 22,23,24 NKJV "It is through the Lord's mercies, we are not consumed. Because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning: Great is Your faithfulness. The Lord is my portion says my soul. Therefore I hope in Him."
Often, we think we are the faithful ones because~ perhaps, after being away from Him for a while, we return and begin to pray again. In actuality, the Lord is the Faithful One because He takes the first step in the beginning by approaching and knocking at the door of our hearts, and stays and waits. So, He has always been there, with us, waiting to hear from us. The Lord is merciful to the soul who seeks Him.
Lamentations 3: 40. "Let us search out and examine our ways, and turn back to the Lord. Let us lift our hearts and hands to God in heaven."
Psalm 103: 14 "For He knows our frame He remembers that we are made of dust". .
PRAYER:
We thank you for another day, Lord...for watching over us through the night. Thank you that your mercies are from everlasting to everlasting. Thank you for waiting for us to realize that your love is timeless. Bring us to a point where we worship before you, confessing our shortcomings and asking for your mercy and compassion that is so freely given, for the asking. Bring us to that place where we can speak with you freely and eagerly wait for your response. How comforting to know You are with us and will always be with us... In Jesus' name, Amen.
Hebrews 4: 15 "For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses but was in all point tempted as we are without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy and find grace in the time of need."
Revelations 3: 20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock. He who hears my voice and opens the door, I will come to him and dine with him and he with me.
The Lord does not pressure us to meet with Him: he gives us a choice…no stress. He merely extends His hand…and waits for our answer.
This is what the Bible refers to as ‘the mystery’, that God loved us while we were yet, sinners.
Colassians 1: 26, 27 The mystery that has been hidden from ages and from generations but now has been revealed to His saints. To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
Colassians 3: 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
Ephesians 2: 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves: It is the gift of God.
Ephesians: 13 But now in Christ Jesus you who were far away have been brought near by the blood of Jesus.
1st Peter 2: 9 Declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light.
There is a song, WE ARE SO BLESSED; the lyrics are as follows:
When I was a child of 5 years, I learned a song, 'One Door and Only One' - Author unknown
'One door and only one
And yet it's sides are two
I'm on the inside
On which side are you?'
Such a simple, message ~ such profound implications!
.......................................
The Lord desires to bless you. He cannot bless if the door to your heart remains locked.
Only you can unlock the door and welcome Him in. He's waits at the door of your heart.
